Paleo Day 5

September 20, 2011

I have more energy today. I am also going two weeks, no coffee. I think I am gaining more from the resistance of a habit than I am in health by omitting caffeine. That is still well worth it. Looking at cheating tonight with a special margarita (cointreau and little sprite) for the LSU game.

Lunch

2/3 chicken breast, mixed veges

Dinner

(mike smith’s)

Apple

2 1/4 Marguiritas

Paleo Day 10

September 20, 2011

Weird runny nose and sinus issues during day and at night. Is it left over gluten or is it something else. It’s very difficult to cook and get to the grocery store. Felt weak the last couple days, but much better today. I feel at my best overall. No GI issues at all.

Paleo Day 4

September 15, 2011

I feel better today. Notice I have the sniffles, but I feel good. Still a little groggy during the evening.

Food:

Lunch

Half chicken breast, mixed vegetables, almonds

Dinner

3 eggs, 1/3 chicken breast, 1/4 C chopped bell pepper, 1/4 C chopped onion, salt, pepper

Paleo Day 3

September 15, 2011

I felt exhausted this morning and determined it was the transition to low carb. Felt much better after eating lunch.

Food:

Lunch 2 hot dogs, mustard, boiled egg, celery, almond butter, almonds

Dinner 3 hot dogs, boiled egg

Paleo Day 2

September 12, 2011

Food:

1/2 Chicken breast grilled, seasoned chef paul, olive oil

2T Almonds

1 carrot

I felt good this morning and this afternoon. Towards the end of the day, my stomach a bit upset. Not bad, but not right. If I had to guess, which I do, I would say it’s the chicken. High n6’s and all the stuff that comes along with a regular chicken. Plus, last time I did this I had trouble with Sanderson Farms chicken.

Paleo Day 1

September 11, 2011

This is the second time around with the 30-day challenge. This time, my partner and I are going 35 days. After completing the first 30, I went nuts with the junk food, binging unconsciously. I am in pretty good shape and probably let that give me permission to gorge. We’ll see how this one goes. Learning to cook offal, which is super cheap and healthier. I discovered some fantastic beef heart last week in the crock pot. The left-over butter poached salmon this morning was scrumptious. Now I’m grilling chicken breast and squash for dinner.
